Miller & Kreisel has started shipping the M90 low-profile on-wall speaker and C15S slimline custom installation 15-inch subwoofer. Both models can be ordered now at US retail prices of $1,199 and $2,299, respectively, with the M90 available in both black or white color options.

M&K M90

M&K says the new décor-friendly M90 is a “step-up” from the existing M50 and M70 speakers and the company has added two additional glass fiber bass drivers for improved sensitivity and low-end response. The woofers sit in their own anti-resonant chambers – with two acting as mid-range and two as bass drivers – reducing the distortion often associated with slim speakers. Phase alignment makes the M90 well suited to center channel duties (with 100% symmetrical vertical and horizontal coverage), and its slim profile ideal for under-TV placement.

The C15S is a custom installation sub designed to be combined with the VA500 Blue Edition external amplifier. The 298mm-deep enclosure (same as the S150 speaker) includes a one-inch MDF cabinet construction with full center and front-to-back braces for improved rigidity. The unit can be bolted to the floor and multiple subwoofers stacked. M&K is targeting the new product chiefly at those with larger residential cinema rooms, and says that the output is on par with the dual 10-inch X-10 subwoofer (without the advantages of the push-pull configuration) in a single driver enclosure. The company has designed the full system (sub plus amp) to reproduce the deepest notes at levels loud enough to be “heard and felt”, and tuned the VA500 specifically for the C15S with three custom boundary compensation EQs.

M&K C15S Subwoofer

“The C15S is our answer to larger room installations, and the 15-inch woofer can fill pretty much any theater out there,” says Susanne Becher, head of marketing and communications for M&K Sound. “It has a shallow form factor that just begs for a 2-3-4 sub installation. The stacking adapter allows you to stack two C15Ss on top of each other minimizing the footprint required to install multiple subwoofers.”
