The model supports virtually any high-resolution multi-channel audio format, including Dolby Atmos (up to 7.1.6 or 9.1.4 configurations), DTS: X, and Auro-3D (up to 13.1), and also includes DTS Virtual: X support to simulate additional surround and height channels.     Looks like another winner to me though a bit pricey perhaps. Will this model only support a single powered sub as opposed to the usual two in similar marantz pre/pro's?

    The look of the thing annoys me. Why hide the status display behind a drop down panel?

    I agree, but it has been their signature look for a few years now, and that hasn't stopped me from picking up a 7702 MKII and now a SR7011. At least you get the input and volume level on the smaller non-covered display. I have only dropped the door 3 or 4 times in 3 years to verify something only shown on the large display (surround mode, input channels, etc.)
