LG launches next-level gaming monitors

LG has announced the imminent launch of three new UltraGear gaming monitors, the 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900. No pricing has been revealed just yet, but availability is expected in the US after Japan market shipments start this month. The company says the monitors include an “all-new” design language, the latest display tech and a range of gaming and connectivity features.

“The latest LG UltraGear gaming monitors apply cutting-edge technology and design to raise the bar for the gaming display category,” said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Ideal for both PC and console gaming, our new monitors offer features and capabilities that take the entire gaming experience to the next level. We will continue to solidify the UltraGear brand’s strong reputation with innovative products that put the needs of gamers first.”The 32GQ950 comes with a native 4K Nano IPS display and can achieve “realistic” colors, care of an Advanced True Wide (ATW) Polarizer tech, while the 32GQ850 has a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) Nano IPS display with ATW and a 240Hz refresh rate, overclocked up to 260Hz. This year’s models sport a sleeker aesthetic with new Hexagon Lighting, HDMI 2.1 and 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, according to the Korean company. Image creation on the 32-inch models is supported by a Nano IPS one millisecond gray-to-gray display tech, while the huge 48-inch model can achieve 0.1 ms response times.

All monitors in the line will incorporate a four-pole headphone jack for plugging in a gaming headset and enabling chat during play sessions. The 2022 models also offer DTS Headphone:X immersive audio capability. LG UltraGear will introduce a first-ever gaming pad and mouse this year. The former will accommodate both mouse and keyboard, customizable RGB lighting and smooth and hard reversible surfaces for glide and braking dexterity.
