LG launches 2020 sound bars with pricing and availability

LG has today announced pricing and availability of its 2020 sound bar lineup including two CES 2020 Innovation Award winners, the LG SN11RG and SN9YG. The new lineup includes technology resulting from the now longstanding partnership with Meridian Audio, and sports designs to complement existing LG OLED and NanoCell 4K and 8K UHD TVs. The eight new models with power ratings from 380 to 770 watts are available through U.S. retailers nationwide from this month.

Five models, namely the SN11RG, SN10YG, SN9YG, SN8YG & SN7Y, combine Meridian sound technology with Dolby Atmos, DTS-X and HiRes Audio (up to 24bit, 192KHz), as well as 4K HDR pass-through via HDMI. They all incorporate up-firing speakers for immersive audio playback. The company’s flagship SN11RG also includes separate rear surround speakers with up-firing drivers. LG says that the partnerhsip with Meridian results in “advanced signal processing and refined hardware design resulting in an expanded soundstage with greater height, width and depth.”

The SN8YG, SN9YG, SN10YG & SN11RG have eARC connectivity enabling control with a TV remote, as well as AI room calibration to measure a room’s acoustic characteristics to determine an optimal sweet spot. The aforementioned models use Google Assistant built-in with AI smart connectivity and voice recognition. All the new models in the lineup are listed below and will give interested buyers a variety of sizes, power output and design to fit individual needs and design requirements. It should be noted that all the sound bars are compatible with the optional SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit if you want to enhance your rear sound stage without cables.
