LG announces pricing on 2020 NanoCell TVs

LG has announced pricing and availability of its 2020 LG NanoCell TVs, which feature 12 new models led by the large-screen 86-inch class Nano90 4K UHD model (CES 2020 Innovation Award winner) and the Nano99 Real 8K series in 75-inch and 65-inch models. With LCD technology and AI-based picture and audio processing, the 2020 LG NanoCell lineup includes a range of screen sizes from 86-inches down to 49-inches diagonally.

LG says its 2020 8K NanoCell TVs “exceed” industry requirements for 8K Ultra HD TVs as defined by the CTA, qualifying them to use the CTA 8K Ultra HD logo joining the company’s 2020 ZX series of 8K OLED TVs. The NanoCell TVs use a layer of one-nanometer sized particles to filter out impurities for more natural and lifelike color, even at wide viewing angles. 2020 models (except the Nano81) include the α (Alpha) 7 Gen 3 Intelligent Processor, while the Nano99 8K models feature the α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI Processor 8K, the same used in LG’s 2020 OLED TVs, and which use deep learning technology to deliver optimized 8K pictures.

The Nano 90 and Nano 99 series implement Full Array Local Dimming to divide the backlighting into smaller blocks resulting in better control, black levels and contrast, according to LG. The new TVs all support Dolby Vision, HDR 10, HLG and Dolby Atmos audio, while UHD Alliance’s Filmmaker Mode and HDR Gaming Interest Group’s (HGiG) HDR gaming profile enable the products to render images closer to the way intended by creators.

LG’s ThinQ AI platform includes Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in as well as support for AirPlay2 and HomeKit. The webOS Smart TV platform delivers access to content via Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, LG Channels and the newly-added Movies Anywhere app. All TVs are available from LG-authorized retailers.
