Klipsch has added The Fives powered monitors to its series of Heritage Wireless speakers. They represent the company’s first powered monitors with HDMI-ARC for direct TV connection, and capable of producing high fidelity sound from dedicated right and left speakers. Klipsch says the speakers can create a “big, bold sound stage” with a better listening experience than regular sound bars.

With real wood veneers and custom-designed amplifiers, The Fives should deliver room-filling audio without the need for an AV receiver. As well as HDMI-ARC, the powered monitors include a phono pre-amp, Bluetooth wireless tech, digital optical, analog RCA and USB inputs. There is also a dedicated subwoofer output.

The Fives incorporate award-winning, proprietary Klipsch Reference acoustic horn-loaded technology and tuning for “loud and precise” audio with enhanced bass and low distortion. Built-in dynamic bass equalization matches the ear’s ability to hear lower frequencies, according to Klipsch, and can deliver powerful bass at any volume. The Fives also feature 192kHz/24-bit decoding for reproduction of high-resolution audio tracks.

With planned availability this summer, a free Klipsch Connect App will allow users to receive firmware upgrades and access a digital quick-start guide. The Fives come in matte black or walnut real wood veneer finishes with textured woven grilles. They are available now through Audio Advice, Klipsch.com and other authorized retailers for $799 per pair (MSRP). For more information, go to Klipsch.
