KEF has unveiled the LS60 Wireless, an active streaming all-in-one music system. Available from the end of this month for $7,000, pre-orders are being facilitated through dealers. It comprises two slimline floor-standing speakers measuring 43 (H) x 5.1 (W) x 12.6 (D) inches with each speaker weighing 70lbs. The towers include in-built amplification totaling 1,400 watts and carry four-inch Uni-Q drivers for wide field audio dispersion.

As well as WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial, and RCA connections, the system is recommended for use with both music and movie content, in conjunction with TV displays and gaming platforms. Two subwoofers can be added via sub outputs and the speakers can operate either wired or wirelessly, while enabling complete positioning freedom. Streaming services supported include Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and, within users’ preferred apps, the ability to stream from Spotify Connect, Tidal and QPlay.

KEF says the new Uni-Q driver boasts a number of refinements including a tweeter gap damper and new Z-Flex surround for a “near-perfect” transition of sound from the speaker into the room. A Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), meanwhile, acts as an acoustic black hole, absorbing 99% of unwanted distortion that comes from the rear of the tweeter resulting in a purer acoustic performance.

The LS60 Wireless is also compatible with many file formats for high-resolution streaming, and supports PCM files up to 24bit/384kHz, as well as DSD and MQA decoding. In partnership with MQA, Tidal – one of KEF’s compatible streaming platforms – delivers Master Quality Authenticated recordings directly from the source. The system is available in three interior design-conscious matte finishes: titanium grey, mineral white or royal blue. For detailed features and specs, visit KEF.
