FandangoNOW launches VOD store on Facebook Portal TV

Video-on-demand service FandangoNOW has announced that it has launched the “first-ever” on-demand movies & TV store on Facebook’s home video calling device, Portal TV. The new FandangoNOW store will give Portal TV users access to more than 100,000 new release and catalog movies, plus next-day TV shows to rent or buy, without needing a subscription. The company says it also offers the largest library of 4K movies and TV shows.

“We’re always looking for new ways to connect fans with the highest quality entertainment content and are proud to be launching the FandangoNOW movie and TV store on Portal TV,” said Fandango President Paul Yanover. “We have a long history of working with Facebook to create innovative new experiences for entertainment fans to discover, enjoy and share their passion for movies and TV.”

As part of an assisted search feature, FandangoNOW on Portal TV will also offer content curated by its sister company Rotten Tomatoes as a resource for movie and TV recommendations. This will enable searching through such categories as ‘Best Movies of the Decade’ or ‘Top Holiday Movies’ as determined by the Tomatometer. You might even delve into lists like ‘Rotten Christmas Movies We Love’ as suggested by the RT editors. FandangoNOW also claims it has thousands of films not currently available on Netflix, Disney+ or other services.

The company recently launched a movie and TV store on Facebook’s Oculus VR headsets, enabling access to its library across the Facebook ecosystem. The platform is available on more than 200 million devices, including Roku, Smart TVs from LG, Samsung, VIZIO and Xbox. You can learn more at FandangoNOW.
