I thought the HDR was gonna be terrific on this release but it’s even better than that. I’m sure I will still get the disk but this is a wonderful new high for AV quality on streaming. If this doesn’t convince you nothing will and it’s more than likely you are listening to your lizard brain instead of your eyes and ears.

It looked pretty good on my Vizio in Dolby Vision. Of course, like most people outside of the major city bubble, I have terrible internet so I don''t think it hit anything over 1080p.

As for the movie...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I’ll have to sample it on my Sony 950H now that I’ve got an AppleTV 4K, so I can finally experience HDR and see if I care. :)

I’m definitely watching the movie. No time for theater, so been waiting for D+ release. But will watch movie on boring 120” HD projector. And will also now sample it on living room 4k HDR as well to see what I’m missing. :)

Is the second film on D+ already? I just saw it in the theatre a few weeks ago.

I'm just completely burned out on Marvel.
I’m 80% there. I like Dr. Strange, and am interested in this movie. I’m starting to ignore the series. And I’m making no effort to follow the new cinematic arc.

But in broad strokes, I’ve had enough superhero and MCU. I won’t something new and different for the next decade.

It started streaming on Wednesday. Disney was contractually obligated to a minimum 45-day theatrical window from its opening day of May 6 (or May 5 If you count the Thursday previews.) So that's why it landed there now.

Like all franchise efforts, the well must eventually run dry. Since there are executives and investors involved, the well must be pumped until they are absolutely sure it is indeed dry.

I don't know that quality is declining. But I'm ready for something different.

I watch more than enough vastly different types of movies that I generally don't burn out on any one given thing. Since Marvel films come out roughly four times a year, I can fill the other 360 days of the year with silents, noir, westerns, crime dramas, musicals, existential European cinema, samurai films, kaiju films, classic comedies, and so on.

Suffering through that boring soap opera Eternals chick flick did it for me, but I really liked Dr. Strange in The Multiverse of Madness in 3D. Sadly they aren't releasing a Blu-ray 3D version for those of us that still enjoy and collect 3D videos.

Wow! Definitely aren't kidding about the 45-day minimum window. I had intended to see it at a good theater, but I blinked... and it's already on D+ 3 days ago??? Sheesh! How do they expect the box office to ever recover quite that much when even something like this hits streaming so fast (w/out some pandemic lockdown, etc), stoking consumer expectations -- yes, I'm aware the box office has/had actually recovered a good deal so far, but not quite fully though, and this (probably) becoming a trend won't help at all going forward...

I was probably gonna wait for the 4K disc (after it left the better theater screens/venues), but the disc release is still an entire month away...
