French manufacturer Devialet has introduced the Dione all-in-one Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 soundbar available later this month for $2,400. The company says the luxury soundbar has an uncompromised “size-to-performance ratio” and sound quality promising a “new standard” in a single high-end device.
The Dione combines seventeen drivers to deliver deep bass, a dynamic midrange, and clear treble response. Audio clarity is enabled care of a proprietary ADH amplification tech with eight built-in SAM-powered subwoofers negating the need for separate subwoofers, according to the company. As well as Dolby Atmos immersive audio, an onboard SPACE algorithm upscales any signal to 5.1.2 sound fields. A dialog enhancement feature is complemented by Devialet’s own ADE in-room calibration system to optimize audio in a given room.
Devialet emphasizes the “performance-to-thinness” characteristics of the soundbar combined with its sleek design and aesthetic appeal. The ORB center channel, meanwhile, is designed to allow mechanical and acoustical matching with a specific home environment. The Dione sports 950 Watts of power with a frequency range of 24 Hz to 21 kHz, qualifying the 17 in-built neodymium drivers to push out a sound pressure level of 101 dB SPL. Drivers comprise nine high-excursion aluminum full-range speakers and the aforementioned eight long-throw SAM subs.
The soundbar also utilizes the Devialet App incorporating the same software protocols and ecosystem found in the company’s renowned Phantom line. A room calibration scan is conducted using the same app. HDMI 2.1 eARC, optical and Bluetooth 5.0 round out connectivity options while music streaming is supported by Airplay2 and Spotify Connect.
