Denon sound bars get Roku TV Ready update

Several Denon sound bars are now Roku TV Ready, including the Denon HEOS Bar, Home Cinema HS2, DHT-S716H and DHT-S516H. There is also a planned expansion to future sound bars in the line. The firmware update will be pushed to current Denon sound bar products eligible to receive the update. The update will be delivered over-the-air and users will need to have their sound bars connected to the internet to receive the new firmware. The program will launch in the U.S. initially.

The Roku TV Ready program enables Roku partners to develop products that work on the Roku platform, improving setup and use. According to Denon, the sound bars underwent thorough testing and were certified by Roku to work with their line of Roku TV models. When Denon sound bars with HEOS Built-in are plugged into a Roku TV, a display will recognize and configure itself for that audio device, and control is via one remote for both TV and sound bar.

Wireless multi-room audio network, HEOS, comprises a family of residential music players. There is a free app available for devices with HEOS Built-in from iOS, Android or Kindle phone or tablet, allowing streaming music services, internet radio and music collections. The HEOS platform also gives users access to all their music, and others can be added to vary a playlist or personalize a room according to that user.

All future Denon sound bars with HEOS Built-in will be Roku TV Ready. For more information, visit Denon.
