Does anyone know if there are any plans to release Zabriskie Point on DVD in the near future?
There has been no news on any future release. Not my favourite films of Antonioni's.
Warner are releasing Blow-Up in February: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...hreadid=166357
Zabriskie Point has a "blow it up real good" climax.
I love the soundtrack album and have the movie on my want list too.
I've always been puzzled by the Roy Orbison song called Zabriskie Point. Was it even in the movie (its not on the sondtrack cd), perhaps Zabriskie Point is a real place and the song had no connection to the film?
PS I also want Vanishing Point
And not to forget the perfect: Il Professione: Reporter (The Passenger) with Maria Schneider and Jack Nicholson.
A DVD release of this one is rumoured for over a year now.
Blow Up is good news ! - i didn't know that, thanx.
Zabriskie Point is a real place in Death Valley, CA. The location was used in the movie. I'm not familiar with the Roy Orbison song, but the location does seem to have some mythic qualities, so I'm not surprised at the title.
The Passenger has been missing from my collection for way too long. It's an amazing film.
What Big O album is 'Zabriskie Point' on?
The song I was thinking of is actually called "So Young", on a CBS Special Products boxset issued shortly after Roy's death. Sorry for mis-remembering the song title. But the song does contain the lyric "Zabriskie Point is anywhere" and the box only provides the info that it is from "Zabriskie Point" with no date, author or anything.
I haven't seen the movie for sometime, and wonder if there is even a trace of the song in it?
That's why knowing there is a real Zabriskie Point may be a partial explanation.(Thanks Ted.)
Not my favorite either, but I'd be interested in seeing it in widescreen as well as the cut footage.
I'd buy this one if it were released to DVD.
