Hello,

A good friend of mine is publishing a new book on Horror Poster Art which will be part of a series of genre-based books.

It offers a visually rich selection of poster designs from around the world. They are still in the process of selecting which films will be included in the book and he has asked me to compile a list of the most popular Horror movies from around the 80's till present day. I believe they have already selected the Poster Art work prior to the 80's.

Since the creation of DVD, I like most of you have for the first time discovered some magnificent movies that I had never heard of before, especially in the Horror genre. My friend has already published many books on Film Posters which i have in my collection. I have made many blind DVD purchases just from seeing the amazing art work which made me really want to see the movie.

If you are interested here is a list of his books: Most major book stores stock them.

(this book is great even for non-X-rated movie fans)the art work is excellent.

I thought I would ask you guys on this forum if you would kindly just list your top ten choice of Horror films. They can be any type of Horror movie from any country in the world. This would provide me with a better selection of films.

PLEASE just list the names of the movies.

Thanks in advance!

Kamyar

Here is the cover for the first book of the series of genre-based books. (Science Fiction) available soon

Battle Royale is a great movie, also in my collection, I never really thought of it as horror though.... more suspense thriller
I'm not looking to argue anything so please no flames! :)
Have you seen part II?

Looking forward to the Dawn of the Dead set next year, remake don't look so hot though...

One my favorite horror posters is the original one-sheet for the 1981 slasher movie THE PROWLER. Unfortunately, the very stark original artwork isn't retained on the Blue Underground DVD release (or perhaps it is on the insert, but not on the DVD cover itself- I don't have the disc myself). There's a reproduction of this poster in Tom Savini's BIZARRO book (aka GRAND ILLUSIONS).
