I doubt Kino is using a different master than Via Vision's Imprint used.
Having said that, Kudos to Kino on releasing this.
Should be easy to figure out was Imprint 2020 off of original neg? But KINO will have the edge despite no supplements

Why would Kino have the edge despite no supplements?

This is the back of the Imprint Blu-ray box set released in October, 2020:

This thread is for Kino Announcements and reaction to only those Announcements. Any film title suggestions are not permitted in this thread. I have posted this same warning numerous times. Please, no further comments, just adhere to this warning. Thank you.
Mr C did not mention any title then just asked what forum? Blu Ray DVD? Is there a thread by director etc? Want to make sure I do not put it in the wrong place again

Do we know if this is the 2020 transfer off the neg? That seems to be MIA info - do we know if KINO won't port the commentary? Only question Mr C is why are they getting these releases down under first?

What forum depends on whether you're asking for a Blu-ray or DVD box set. I don't know if there is a thread for William Wyler. You can do a simple search to see if one exists.

You're asking questions I can't answer now because I'm not privy to that information. What I do know is that Imprint BD box set was released on October 28th, 2020. The scan for Detective Story was done in 2020. IMO, chances are both Blu-rays will be derived from the same scan. Bonus material will be announced by Kino in the coming weeks.

Doesn't the announcement confirm this?

I think he's asking whether the 2020 Imprint BD release is derived from that same 4K scan as the upcoming Kino Blu-ray. IMO, I think so, but don't know for sure until I see the Kino Blu-ray.

I confirmed a new Universal deal at the other forum, Red Dragon (4KUHD) was the first announcement.

52 movies - 3 TV movies - From 1910s to 2010s
2 TV shows
8 UHD (Red Dragon + 7 More)
38 - First Time on BD
Much love! KINO emptying Universal's vaults!
