Looks like Paramount has some plans as the iTunes HD digital just upgraded to 4K/HDR.We asked for Blue Hawaii, they said no. They'll most likely release them as a collection, I'm just guessing.
Several on that list I'd buy, but the "first day at whatever price" ones are Warning Shot, The Shootist, and Young Sherlock Holmes. That would leave only The High and the Mighty and Island in the Sky, but while Paramount did the DVDs, the Wayne estate/Batjac controls them.Kino Lorber is PARAMOUNT among all physical media distributors
My predictions:
1)THE CARPETBAGGERS
2)NEVADA SMITH

Great film! Poor George Reeves Mark Sandrich was a big booster of his and once Sandrich died Reeves hopes of leading man roles was dashed. That said many still think Reeves did not kill himself - too bad he did not live to see the Pop Culture Icon he became! THANKS FOR THIS KINO!Coming September 13th!
So Proudly We Hail (1943)

B&W 126 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
Screen greats Claudette Colbert (The Sign of the Cross), Paulette Goddard (The Cat and the Canary) and Veronica Lake (Sullivan’s Travels) star in this passionate film based on a true story about American Army nurses during World War II. Colbert shines as Lt. Janet Davidson, in charge of nine nurses serving in the Pacific. From the bombing of Pearl Harbor to the time they are shipped home, these extraordinary women tirelessly treat the wounded despite constant reminders of danger, romance and heartbreak. Made during wartime with the cooperation of the American Red Cross, the War Department and the Army Nurses Corp, this stirring tribute to the brave “Angels of Bataan” received Academy Award nominations for acting (Goddard), writing (Allan Scott, Blue Skies), cinematography (Charles Lang, A Farewell to Arms) and visual effects. So Proudly We Hail also features George Reeves (TV’s Adventures of Superman), Barbara Britton (The Virginian), Walter Abel (Arise, My Love) and Sonny Tufts (The Crooked Way) with rousing direction by Mark Sandrich (Holiday Inn).

Winchester '73 is long overdue. I thought Criterion was suppose to release this at some point. I would prefer Kino as they do a better job with classic titles in my opinion.Just throwing this out there, seems that they are still able to mine some of the MGM Mod titles along with their deal with Universal, this has been a boon for Film Noir fans. Question is would Kino consider doing a "Western" Film Noir : The Dark Side of Cinema as a possible release.
separated the Stewart/Mann film as i see that possibly being a single release
Winchester '73 (1950)
3 MGM Mod's that would make a great inclusion.
Valerie (1957)
Rebel in Town (1956)
The Halliday Brand (1957)
anyone else interested in something like this?
