I just jam a long sharp knife through the top of it and pin a note on it that says "you" and leave the impaled pumpkin on my enemies porch. They usually get the message....
Thats the easiest way to carve a pumpkin, plus you get to scare your dastardly enemies all in one shot.
You can also use this impaled pumpkin to ward off burglers, just leave it on your front porch with a note that says "you if you try to rob me"
