Going out to my car at 11:45 AM, finding a parking spot right next to the building, and claiming it.

Also, any excuse to play in Photoshop.

Cold cat ears between my fingers.

I can't help myself when my cat comes in from outside, I have to pick him up and rub his ears between my fingers.

I do it to my wife too. I love cold ears.

So, mine is cuddling with my dog in the morning. After my wife gets up, the dog will crawl into her spot. Just before I climb out of bed I'll notice the dog sleeping there, drag her over to my side of the bed and use her as a pillow for a few minutes. There's nothing quite like having a cuddly furball under your head...
I would have called this a guilty pleasure, because it can feel kind of weird. But now that I know other people do it... I wouldnt lay my head on my dog because I have allergies/asthma, and I dont want the dog that close to my nose/mouth/eyes, but I do spoon with my dog after my wife gets up. Dogs are warmer than humans.

Popping bubblewrap. However, I have my little fetish under control, unlike some people:

Once, driving home along a quiet country road, I could see a car had stopped ahead of me and was reversing. I stopped, wondering (obviously enough) what was wrong. A giant piece of industrial-sized bubblewrap had fallen off a truck and onto the road, and this guy was obviously driving over it again and again to see how many bubbles he could pop.

I do have another guilty pleasure: I enjoy memorizing url's. I never use bookmarks, I always type in the adress. To jump between forums (here), I simply change the forumid tag in the url. 20 for Software, 14 for Movies, 7 for After Hours, etc...

I love watching the still water at a lit pool in the dark. There is nothing more relaxing then watching a vacant pool where the only light source is in the water.

I will actively search out a spot of absolute silence, they are incredibly hard to find but to me worth the effort. I could spend days in a spot like that.

Finding a place where no one has been, for example getting to a new spot in a cave that no one has managed to find before.

Lastly making sure my DVDs are upright in the case, and when I insert them in to my player the wording is upright. WTF is wrong with me :D

Me too, only my favorite is 10:38 (most lights lit up on digital clock).

I do the microwave-door-beep-avoidance thing too. I also try to use the same number on the keypad for my time – like instead of 1:00, I use :66 or 4:44 instead of 5:00.

Unfocusing (or is it defocusing?) my eyes while looking at fire/flame or especially Christmas lights.

My OCD is that I have to have CDs and DVDs straight in their case. I hate it when it’s difficult to tell which way is up!

Sunday afternoon naps with a football game on TV.

Here’s a good one I heard on an NPR show, This American Life a few years ago: The game begins. Why? Something arbitrary triggers it. The object? See Figure out where you are based only on your memories that are at least one year old. Once the game begins, you can’t move until you gather enough clues to solve the mystery. Obviously, sometimes the game is easy and may only take a few seconds. Other times, it may be so difficult that you’ll have to decide how dogmatically you wish to follow the rule about not moving until you figure it out. For more information on this one, listen to the Real Audio version of this
program. (Go to approx. 25:45 for this story and examples of how to play).

I used to do this years ago when the www was newer in order to jump from the free samples page to the rest of the pics on porn sites.

Your honor, I plead guilty on all three counts. :D

Back in my third semester of college, The Brady Bunch was on TV three times a day. My roommate and I would challenge each other to the World's Toughest Brady Bunch Trivia contest each day, and by the end of the semester we were both masters of all things Brady - having seen every episode at least six or seven times. Phone numbers, license plate numbers, number of steps in the entire house, etc. My current guilty pleasure is being able to identify the plot of the Brady Bunch episode within the first ten or fifteen seconds of the show. Since my TiVo doesn't afford me the opportunity to randomly catch the show anymore, this is a guilty pleasure that I seldom get to indulge in.

I too do the microwave thing and always make sure my DVD/CDs are stored straight in the cases.
I also always return my receiver to the exact same settings when I am done with it, even if I know the next time I use it those settings will not be used(I set volume to -70dB, surround mode on and no tone controls on).

I have an array of various objects lined up in the space between me and my keyboard. Right now i'm looking at a brand new nail clipper, a brand new garlic press, a small fan guard, and a marker. The objects vary from day to day, but i'm always finding ways that I can fit things together, or I always have something pressed up against my lips. I don't know what it is, but the feeling of cold metal against my lips is so nice.

Also, whenever I see some type of mechanical device, I always have to know exactly how it works. Especially big construction equipment. I always try to remember the brand name, and when I get home I always have to check the web page to get all the stats or info on that particular machine.

If its snowing on the way home, I can't wait to get home and get on my garden tractor and snow blow the 900' driveway. I don't know what it is about snow blowing, but it has got to be one of my most favorite thing in the world to do.

This is me snow blowing
Another one

After reading this thread, I will never, ever think that I am weird again. I am apparently Mr. Normal.

Having said that, I only like to take showers at night, because I want the shower to be pitch black dark. My wife yelled at me the other day, because there was mold in my shower. I had to explain that I can't see it in the dark, so I didn't know to clean it.

That's the whole reason I started this thread, to give the psychologists something to do.

Maybe we should archive this thread so when somebody posts a thread that breaks the rules of the HTF, an admin can go dig up some dirt and say:

"Pffftttt , well you like to sniff underwear while wearing bunny slippers"
