    Nice list, I watch most of those shows and could have easily lived with SNG, Due South and Sherlock Holmes on my top 10 list. I'll have to try Lost again, my wife really liked it when it was on but I was always too busy with work etc.

    Interesting, ChrisCook, that your list doesn't have a single sitcom on it.

    If someone were to go back and tally up all the shows people have listed as their #1 pick, I wonder if there would be a clear winner.

    I have seen The Fugitive as the #1 pick of at least three posters, so it figures to be in the running (no pun intended, Dr. Kimble).

    Winnowing my favorites down to a top ten is extremely difficult...I'm always plagued by the thought that I left something important off the list. Going to have to make two lists, one for U.K. TV shows and one for U.S. shows.

    U.K. Top Ten:

    All Creatures Great & Small
    The Avengers
    Sherlock Holmes
    (Jeremy Brett version, accept no substitutes)
    Miss Marple (Joan Hickson version, ditto)
    Doctor Who (original series, up through the Peter Davison era)
    Red Dwarf
    The Prisoner
    Blackadder

    Various ITC action man series (like The Saint, Danger Man, Man in a Suitcase, etc. - bit of a cheat here, I know)
    Rumpole of the Bailey

    U.S. Top Ten:

    The Wild Wild West
    Star Trek: The Original Series
    Firefly
    I Spy
    The Fugitive
    The Twilight Zone
    The X-Files
    Route 66
    The Invaders
    The Andy Griffith Show

    Hey! I guess it’s time I posted an opinion in a six year old thread:

    In no particular order — And like eberybody else, the list would change from year-to-year:

    * M*A*S*H

    * Star Trek:TOS

    * The Fugitive

    * Columbo

    * Seinfeld

    * Maverick (First three seasons)

    * Magnum, PI (Original - Hoping for the best with the reboot)

    * Firefly

    * The Rockford Files

    * Stargate SG-1

    Honorable mentions:
    * Cheers
    * Friends
    * Frasier
    * Star Trek: TNG
    * Star Trek: DS9
    * Babylon 5
    * Monk

    We also had a thread where people were asked for their top 5 tv series...now, doing that one induced some emotional trauma for me, ha, ha...but 10 makes it easier by far. In no particular order of preference...

    Combat!
    The Fugitive
    Twilight Zone
    Rawhide
    Maverick
    Rockford Files
    Route 66
    Mr. Novak
    Andy Griffith Show
    Dick Van Dyke Show

    It says something about the supposed "Vast Wasteland" that we could all easily cite another top ten of our favorites...and another top ten after that...and so on...

    Alright, I've pared it down to a top 10, but there are a lot of honorable mentions that could easily leak into the top 10.

    4. Game of Thrones

    7. Star Trek (original series)
    8. The Twilight Zone

    Six years later......I'd add to my "Honorable Mention" list The Wild Wild West, Are You Being Served?, Star Trek (the original, of course!), The Doctors (the NBC daytime soap now in cable reruns), Laugh-In, Keeping Up Appearances ("It's pronounced bouquet!"), The Carol Burnett Show- I'd better stop here!

    The hardest part of this is reading the previous posters' choices and then having to rewrite your list AGAIN....

    1. I Love Lucy
    2. Golden Girls
    3. Columbo
    4. Perry Mason
    5. Fawlty Towers
    6. The Munsters
    7. Mary Tyler Moore
    8. Arrested Development
    9. All In The Family
    10. The Carol Burnett Show
