What are your favorite connections for the following:

1. Speakers (Front/Rear)
2. Sub
3. Prgressive Scan DVD
4. Digital VCR
5. TiVo
6. Cassette Deck

You are going to have to be a bit more specific.

Are you asking for BRAND recomendations, or connection types?

In the Video world, there is Composite, SVideo, Component connection types
In the audio world there is bare-wire, bananas, spades, pins.

Or do you mean the mechanics? I prefer a good BNC over an RCA for any video type connection. I find I also prefer a mediocre 5-way BNC connection over most HD-15 (VGA stype) connections. I prefer a balanced XLR connector for line-level connections..

I like the idea of optical for digital connections, but for some reason it is out-of-reason expensive, so a coax connection is generally good - provided that there is a positive connection going on (akin to a BNC's twist-lock, or an XLR's security lock.) I've seen 1/4" connectors go bad all too often, and I've never heard anything good about RCA connections.
