Hi all, I'm curious as to what fellow TV show fans and collectors think about this: If you could build your dream collection, what would you include that isn't already on the market? I am a classic TV freak myself, but I welcome opinions no matter what you watch. I would also include some sets that have been released badly for whatever reason, because hey, I can dream right? So here's my list:

-The Jeffersons Seasons 7 through 11

-The Odd Couple Complete Series Uncut

-Alf Complete Series Uncut

-The Cosby Show Season 1 Uncut (seasons 2-8 were done right)

-Roseanne Season 1 Uncut (the other seasons are okay)

-Boy Meets World Seasons 5 through 7

-Archie Bunker's Place (As of now only season 1 is out but I'd love to see the rest of it)

-Ed Sullivan Shows Featuring The Rolling Stones (they did it for the Beatles, now let's see if they can do it for other groups)

One thing that really irritates me, and I'm sure others will agree, is when studios release a few seasons of a show and then stop. C'mon, I want the rest of the Jeffersons so badly (I bought seasons 1-6 at the time of release)!

It also seems to me that classic TV gets the worst possible DVD treatment. The Odd Couple is my favorite TV show EVER and proper versions of the episodes will probably never be made available. It's a shame.

Any additions you guys can think of, or comments?

Anything from the pre-VCR years which presents a show EXACTLY as it was aired the first time, with commercials and show promos (a branching option to watch the show with no commercial interruptions should be included.) My dream disc would include an entire night's prime-time programming if it existed in this condition (from videotape, not kinescopes.)

That's a very interesting concept. Mostly the reason I buy DVDs is to see the shows commercial-free, but a DVD containing original commercials from the original broadcast would be very interesting indeed!

I really, really need:

1. Maverick -- Seasons 1-5. Yes; I'm aware that the series is currently airing on the "Westerns Channel"; but I really need this outstanding series up on the shelf. All that exists on DVD from this incredible series is a three episode sampler (which doesn't even include the Clint Eastwood episode) and the pilot for "Young Maverick". That's it!! (To be totally fair, I think the Eastwood ep is included on the "Unforgiven" Blu.) With the combined star power of James Garner, Roger Moore, and Jack Kelly this is all we get??

2. Batman -- Seasons 1-3. It should be easier to clear this series now than five years ago; and with the impending "Green Hornet" movie there is actually some incentive for the release.

77 SUNSET STRIP and its brethren are at the top of my list. I'd also like to have MR. LUCKY and the remaining PETER GUNNs, as well as the rest of the HITCHCOCKS. Among more recent shows, subsequent seasons of HILL STREET BLUES, MURPHY BROWN and PICKET FENCES would be nice, but the number of obscure and unworthy short-run shows is too lengthy to warrant mention. Finally, I wish BEGGARS AND CHOOSERS, which was announced and then cancelled, would come out, especially as much of its cast has gone on to bigger stardom (e.g., Christina Hendricks, Tuc Watkins, Charlotte Ross, etc.).

Oh boy... my choice of TV shows that I wouldn't have to pay for?

- Finish Diff'rent Strokes

- Finish Amazing Stories

- Re-issue Battle of the Planets

- Batman (1966)

- M*A*S*K*

- Finish Silver Spoons

- Midnight Caller

- Go-Bots

- Any Disney Anthology Series shows

- Classic Nickelodeon shows (You Can't Do That on Television, Hey Dude, Spartakus and The Sun Beneath the Sea, Belle and Sebastian, David the Gnome)

- More best-of game shows

Those are just the things that I remember really loving when I was a kid. Honestly, take that list plus just about anything that was on Nick at Nite and TV Land in the old days that isn't out yet and I'll snap it up.

I'll second fixing seasons two and three of "The Fugitive". More than likely season four will be pretty good......but I'll wait for the reviews to come in before I buy.

I'd like to see "Harry O" get released.

The complete "Johnny Cash Show" uncut and unedited.

Season four of "Route 66".

"Brotherhood Of The Bell", TV movie from 1970 starring Glenn Ford.

And so many others, but those are some that come to mind.

I'm going to try and keep my list down to just some really, really important shows that I'd like to see either released or finished. Here goes.

1) A Complete Ozzie & Harriet Mega Set. This show ran for 14 seasons and I believe the final episode count is 435. So it would be a ridiculously huge set and, of course, I'll never see it happen.

2) The Wonder Years complete and remastered, with no music substitutions (duh).

3) Rawhide completed.

4) Tarzan (Ron Ely series). I haven't seen this in a long, long time but I think I'd still enjoy it thoroughly.

5) Petticoat Junction completed.

6) Lassie complete.

7) The Fugitive done correctly (heck, add My Three Sons to this one as well).

8) Quincy completed.

9) Rifleman complete, and hopefully looking better than the MPI prints.

10) In the Heat of the Night complete (at least up through Season 6 - everything after that was below par).

11) Dr. Kildare (at least the 1st Season so I can get perhaps the greatest Christmas episode of all time uncut and looking good).

12) The Lone Ranger complete (at least all the Clayton Moore episodes).

13) The Harlem Globetrotters complete.

14) More Disney Treasurers (like finishing up Elfego Baca and Swamp Fox).

15) My personal, super-stupendous Greatest Ever Christmas Episodes DVD boxed set. Would include what seems like lost causes, such as the Christmas episodes from the following shows: The Millionaire, Armstrong Circle Theater (4 episodes), many Bell Telephone Hour episodes, Chips, Danger (4 eps), Climax (2 eps), Ethel and Albert (3 eps), Federal Men (2 eps), Fireside Theatre (3 eps), Lux Video Theater (3 eps), Medic, Mr. Peepers (2 eps), Robert Montgomery Presents (5 eps), Studio 57 (3 eps), numerous Disney Christmas episodes from their different incarnations down through the years.

Gary "there's tons more I want, but those are all the highest of the high on my lists" O.

I don't think I am asking for too much with the following requests:

Complete series of:

St. Elsewhere

Homefront

Dobie Gillis

I am trying not to complain about Rich Man Poor Man since I am thrilled it finally came out on DVD but a better transfer and the cut scene restored would be nice.
