No song scores, such as American Graffiti. Just the orchestral music, please.

Mine, in no particular order, but carefully thought-through (all scores available for purchase except the last one):

WUTHERING HEIGHTS (1970, Michel Legrand)
THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BRITTEN (2008, Alexandre Desplat)
THE LION IN WINTER (1968, John Barry)
THE 7th VOYAGE OF SINBAD (1958, Bernard Herrmann)
LUST FOR LIFE (1956, Miklos Rozsa)
SPARTACUS (1960, Dmitri Tiomkin)
THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN (1985, James Horner)
THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1939, Alfred Newman)
RAGTIME (1978, Randy Newman)
HEIRESS, THE (1949, Aaron Copland)

Agree with you on the scores for SINBAD, LUST, and HEIRESS, and also SPARTACUS, but the composer for that one was Alex North, not Dimitri Tiomkin.

This is like picking your favourite movie, here is my list in no particular order of merit:
Witness
Lawrence of Arabia
Laura
The Ghost and Mrs Muir
Silverado
The Professionals
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Ryan’s Daughter
55 Day’s at Peking
Out of Africa
I was given my first soundtrack about 55 years ago and them has been a life long passion.

I'd have to think long and hard to narrow my list down to ten, but these pop in my head as obvious favorites:

-Jurassic Park
-Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith
-Superman: The Movie
-Titanic (1997)
-Solaris (2002)
-The Untouchables
-Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
-Tron Legacy

And an honorable mention to Hans Zimmer - I don't know that a single score of his on its own would make my list but the combined filmography is incredible. I saw his concert tour earlier in the year where he did selections from a bunch of different films, and as a whole, that show was better than any single movie "with live orchestra" performance I had ever seen. (A CD and BD of the Zimmer tour is coming out in November!)
