    This is SO Freaking Awesome!!
Playing Halo is something else....even though I've only just gotten off the ship, I'm having so much fun just looking around & listening.
I only have 2 demo discs from the Xbox mag to go with, but so far so good.
I cannot state enough how 5.1 sound makes a difference...
Now with a PS2.GC,DC, & Xbox in my HT, I am truly in gaming heaven!!

Congrats, Calvin, but I forgot to tell u about the costs of being in the Next Gen club. For one, it's going to get REAL expensive. Also, there's the waiting game. For example, I knew that I was getting an XBox, but I already had the others, and Max Payne (which is a pretty cool game, btw) was already out on the PS2. Do you wait? Which one to get? Heaven forbid something comes out for EVERYTHING, like EA Sports games. One more thing: time. Don't start neglecting the older children now that there's a new baby in the house [IMG] ...

    Welcome to the club! [IMG]
Once I got to playing my X-Box in 480p and DD 5.1, there was no going back! I even auctioned off my PS2/accessories/games. Halo is simply amazing... The football games could use some improvement, even though they are better than what is available on the other systems... And recently, I have renewed enthusiasm for my Box thanks to Rallisport Challenge! [IMG] I am even considering doing something I never thought I would do... Picking up a 3rd and 4th controller! [IMG]
    Enjoy!

I would never sell my PS2. I have all 3 systems and each one is unique in its own way.

Well, they could hardly be unique in the same way, could they? [IMG]

Well, obviously. It just seems stupid to jump ship from a platform you already owned and loved because the latest thing has a few more bells and whistles. Oddly enough, even though I love my XBox, I've been playing a LOT more of my PS2 lately (FFX, DMC, SSX, SH2).

The main reason I "jumped ship" from the PS2 is that I could not justify to myself the cost of owning both consoles when I can barely find enough time to enjoy one. Not that I couldn't afford to own both, but I just would feel guilty having one or the other just sit there when I barely have time enough for one...
Oh, and the other reason is that many of the games I typically play are multiplatform anyways (football games, etc.), so it doesn't really matter if I own one console or more than one... The X-Box version of the same games come out a little more polished anyhow (at least they have 480p and DD 5.1).
Mike_G, even 2 of the 4 games you mentioned that you are currently playing are available on the X-Box... [IMG]

Welcome to the Xbox club. [IMG]
I kind of wish I was new to it again. That way, I wouldn't have to be endlessly waiting for another decent Xbox title. [IMG] I can only play Halo so many times, ya know? [IMG]
    Couldn't wait for Bloodwake, *yawn*.
Then I was hoping that Wreckless would be good. *snore*.
But, Blood Omen II is due in a week. My fingers are crossed!
Another one that I have high hopes for is Morrowind. But, I just read the preview at IGN Insider and, while most of it was pretty good, they say the graphics are well below Xbox capability...I'm worried.

I'm just happy that it gives me an excuse from having to seemingly nonstop Dynasty Warriors 3 for the PS2. Don't get me wrong..its a great game, but the other half is Totally obsessed with it.
I say, bring on the Covenant! [IMG]

    Hunters? Pshaw.

It's the cloaked (gold) elites with energy swords that get me. Hunters can be killed in about a half-dozen pistol rounds (and they don't really get any more difficult at the higher levels), but taking out a couple of cloaked elites out can be absolutely hellish on Legendary. They've got the best AI of the elites, powerful shields, virtual invisibility (especially in the dark), and 1-hit kills.

Without a needler or a sniper rifle (or some sweet luck with plasma grenades), you've got a 50-50 chance of dying against them.
