How about movies based on specific amusement park rides?
First there was the yawnfest Mission to Mars, which was (to some noticable degree) based on a Disney exhibit from the mid-80's. This summer sees the release of Disney's The Country Bears, a film based on the popular Disney World attraction. Now it seems that Eddie Murphy is in negotiations to headline a movie based on the famous Haunted Mansion ride - with Rob Minkoff (Stuart Little) at the helm. There will inevitably be a Pirates of the Carribean flick - I'll bet on it.
It's rare to see such rampant commercialism at work. Soon you'll be buying your kids the Playstation games based on the movie, which was based on a 17-ton piece of spinning machinery and molded powder-blue plastic.
Product: The Movie

Personally I'd love to see a full 3-D with included glasses DVD release of Captain Eo. The 3-D effect blew me away at Epcot

I want a movie based on the lives of the people displayed in the Best Buy flyers! Just like in that Onion story.

I think a Pirates movie is already rolling along. I've read a couple different mentions of it at Cinescape. I think they even mentioned that Bruckheimer was attached, but dont quote me on that...

I saw the trailer for The Country Bears when I went to see Ice Age and I must say it looks to be the worst film featuring people in bear suits EVER!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the trailer for The Country Bears. When I told someone about it, he didn't believe I was serious. That looks absolutely awful.

Captain E-O is a brilliant idea. I wept... WEPT when I returned to EPCOT and found a twisted hulk of broken lies and maligned sorrows where E-O used to be. The Disney staff even offered me a Durazac.

For the love of God, give us E-O!

Long live Captain E-O! This was the most impressive thing that I saw when I went to Disney for the first time.

When I finally returned, it was gone and Honey I shrunk the audience was in it's place. Oh for SHAME!!
