You really don't cut the cord. You may cut out the TV part. But 95% of the public has the Net from the Cable Co's. You till have a cord. Yes i still have a cord from my Net. Going 400/400.
And Direct Now over the net for my TV. They gave me a great deal. 68 channels + HBO, MAX,Show Time, Stars. $70 a month.

I get my internet for free. And its wireless so less cords. There is a cable from the roof to my router tho. Plus power cables, so you are never cord free.

But I don't have fourteen thousand useless channels anymore. Thats what I cut out of my life. Reality TV garbage. Remember when discovery channel used to talk about science?

(Speaking in terms of hypotheticals).

The only way to truly "cut the chord" in an absolute sense, is to live completely off the grind like Ted Kaczynski (ie. the Unabomber) before he was arrested.

Maybe these similarly-themed threads should be combined as there are now several?

Of course you understand, the term "cutting the cord" is a metaphor. It's not meant to be taken literally. Instead it implies [cutting] reducing or eliminating what you pay for the services typically offered by the likes of Comcast and AT&T.

"Great deals" are never given, they're negotiated, and in this case usually expire every year or two. I have better things to do than go down this road on a recurring basis but that's just me. Once you admit you can't do without something you can't expect to be treated fairly by the company or person who provides it.
