I did not enjoy Season 2 when it aired; perhaps it plays better on disc. That said, I think it's great both seasons will be getting BD releases.

Probably under 70$ because it was a shorter season than the first one. But I got my season one set for 29$ (on HD DVD, though--still good). Will be adding this to the collection when I go "blu".

I got into HEROES when the series was released to HD-DVD

Thought it was an incredible show and like most of you, became
a huge fan.

However I agree that Season Two was a huge letdown. They
filled it with a multitude of characters that weren't likeable and
the storylines were just....well...underwhelming.

Still, with anticipation that Season 3 will be better, I will surely
be one of those who buys this on BD.

I agree completely, and so does the producer/creator of the show who readily admits he made some really wrongheaded decisions in season 2 (Hiro too long in the past, new uninteresting characters, etc.)

I did think the episode "Four Months Later" was exceptional, by far the best episode of the season catching us up on many things that happened between the end of season one and the start of season two.

I enjoyed rewatching Season One on HD DVD. As I've now sat through the show twice, I won't be upgrading to Blu just for the sound.

Enthusiasm greatly dampened by the poor season two. At least they know its flaws, and I'm hoping three will be better!

I actually perferred the later part of Season 2 to Season 1. Being a big comic geek I saw way too much borrowing from other material in Season 1 and it irked me after awhile. Even with that it's still the best show on network TV.

I reviewed season one on HD DVD. EE was present in some scenes but minimal in the majority. It certainly didnt ruin anything about the show for me.

Edit, actually I am remembering incorrectly, there were a few scenes that had weird NOISE issues, not sharpening.

So, not sure what you are getting at with EE complaints on that set.

You are basing your prediction on what S2 will look like on BD because of what you saw on broadcast?

The master may be the same but the films are usually re-encoded by the transmitter with bitrates stripped down on broadcast, which is why I dont bother with either cable or satellite. I watch stuff on disk or not at all, at least until FIOS is available here.

Your host is very slow so I only downloaded the first of the shots you provided. If the others are similar the 'EE' you are seeing is much more likely to be Chromatic Aberation caused by the lenses used on filming rather than EE added in mastering. I say this because they are consistantly on the high contrast areas such as on the edges of trees against a bright sky, which is a classic CA tell tale. CA is also known as purple fringing.

Chromatic aberration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tools are getting better to fix this (Lightroom has a pretty good tool for DSLR use for example) but you can't blame the encodes for stuff that happens at capture time.

Just started watching. VERY good picture! 1080p at 185" yummy.

Ditto for Sarah Connor Chronicles (compared to iTunes demo - free episode).

Sound for both also good.
