I've read this page about the 'Yamaha YSP1:

    gadgets.fosfor.se/index.php?p=42

Does anyone have some more information, or some hands-on (ears-on) experience? It's sounds a bit too good to be true. Can the sound really be that good?

    Best regards

    Mikael

it relies on room reflections to do the work... sounds a lot like bose's philosophy. I really hope mentioning the B word doesn't ignite another war, but it's the first thing that came to mind reading the information. I wonder how it works in a non rectangular room, and also if you use any sound damping that will destroy the surround image projected. Are we really in a stage of evolution where all the standard rules are being changed here?

btw.. here's the link to yamaha's site:

Sounds like a great thing for a in-home demo with a liberal return policy.

Very interesting, I wonder how much this will retail for. I heard a couple of years ago about a TV Pioneer had made that had a similar speaker array built-in to it. The TV was shown at an electronics show and was supposed to have retailed for $42K, but I never heard of it coming on to the market.
