    Hi All,

I am planning to purchase a new home theater system including a DVD player, receiver and 5.1 sound (speakers and sub). My budget is $1500 (canadian).

    I was thinking:

    DVD Player: Panasonic DVD-RV32
    Receiver: Yamaha RX-V30
    Speakers: PSB Alpha Intro package

I have been offered this entire system for $1600 including taxes, which is about $400 off the retail price with tax.

    My questions are the following.

    1) Have I made wise selections?
    2) Is this a good value?

I was also thinking of the Onkyo TS-DX494 (or the new 500 receiver that replaces it) and the Onkyo SKS-HT500 speaker package. I've also heard the Energy Take 5.1's and was not all that impressed...the little PSB Alpha Intro system sounded great on the 5.1 DTS-encoded Eagles DVD.

    Any comments?

I was also thinking I might like a 5-disc changer instead of the RV-32....what would be a wise yet economical choice?

    Thanks for your help,

    Chris

    PS
My TV is a 27" Wega
