Yamaha RX-V2200 vs Pioneer VSX36TX (1 Viewer)

Trying to decide which receiver to purchase. Don't have much experience with either. Not sure how to tell if 2200 has the ability to provide 7.1 sound down the road. Can anybody tell me what to look for? Also, not sure what to make of the whole THX certification that the Pioneer has. Is this really that critical? Thanks for the input.

I just bought a Yamaha RX-V2200. I would recommend it! But your purchase should be based on which unit best meets all or most of your needs in a receiver within the constraints of your budget. The 2200 best met my needs for the present and near future.
