Yamaha HTR5550 v/s Onkyo TX-SR500 (1 Viewer)

I'm new to Home Theater arena and am looking to setup
my first HT in next couple weeks (budget around $500).

Both Yamaha HTR5550 and Onkyo TX-SR500 seem to have
same features. How do they compare in quality ?

Does anybody have a setup of either of these with
Polk Audio RM6000 or JBL NSP1 ? Is that good enough
for a small (18x12 ft) room ?

Humm well in my humble opinion Yamaha. My perception is Yamaha, My ownership is Yamaha. Onkyo I don't know to much about. I know when I was in the military they were inexpensive to buy. Allot of people had them. It's like this to me. What brand ketchup you use Hinz or Huntz.
