Yamaha Htr 5640 (1 Viewer)

i have a yamaha htr 5640,when i set it up for 6 speakers
the display shows six speakers but when i say ok the rear
center channel speaker goes off the display.the speaker works
it just does not show it on the display,is this unit defective?

I think it will only display when you are using a 6.1 encoded dvd. Do you have any of these?

I am thinking about buying the 5640. Are you enjoying your unit? As for the thread, I think JimC_A is right. These light are "input channels indicators" and only light up if the source is encoded, in your case, in 6.1.
