I own a Yamaha RX-V6A receiver. My main audio feed to the Yamaha is by Ethernet (fed from Roon). A few days ago, the Yamaha said it needed a firmware update. Fool that I am, I let the update proceed, and it said it completed successfully. But ever since that update, my Ethernet input on the Yamaha no longer works. I can feed the receiver by HDMI, and everything works fine, but I've not yet discovered how to get the Ethernet input on the Yamaha to accept streaming audio again.
I contacted Yamaha support, and their "level two" technician who called me insisted that my Ethernet port WAS working, and that any problem I had was with Roon. Of course, this didn't explain why the issue only occurred after installing Yamaha's firmware update... I've also contacted Roon support without success.
So, I'm doing what I should have done to start with - asking here!
Has anyone else had this issue with Yamaha's latest firmware update?
Has anyone here any idea how to fix this?
