So I need a DVD/CD changer for both music and movies. It will be hooking up to a Yamaha RX-V630 receiver. How do these models compare (C920 or CP72)? Here is the link to the Yamaha comparison chart, since it seems that this model isn't too popular around here.

How do the PQ, features/functions, and build quality compare between the yamaha and panny?
    Thanks,
    Dan

Oh, one more thing...is there any advantage to matching receiver and dvd player brands...compatibility makes it sound better maybe??? Thanks.

    Dan,

Both players use the Faroudja de-interlacing chip so video should be good on both.

It would appear that the Yamaha has better D/A audio chips, so might be a better choice as a CD player.

I don't know what street price is on the $599 msrp Yamaha, but I'd bet it's still considerably more than the $250 or so the CP-72 normally sells for.
