I feel like a complete idiot for asking this, but I am perplexed.

My Yamaha 5790 has a setting for compression / dynamics. The trouble is that the menu wording and the manual wording seem to be in disagreement. So, I can't quite figure out if the "maximum" setting means maximum dynamics, or maximum compression. The two are opposites, of course, and you'd think I could tell just by listening, but I must be deaf.

    Anybody know for certain?

    T'anks in advance.

maximum means max dynamics allowed, this is how I've taken the setting on my 5790. Hope this helps.
