I recently purchased the 2300 for $449 and can get a 1400 for $699. I will be primarily using the receiver as a prepro with external amps. My question to those that know Yamahas well, is it worth spending the extra $250 over the 2300 for the 1400?
I know that both of them would sound very similar and I really like the 2300 in terms of music and HT both. Anyone care to add to this? I have 2 weeks left to return this unit and get the 1400.

Can you buy the 1400 and return it if it isn't a huge improvement? That would be the best thing to do.

I have not read about anyone actually having a 1400 yet. My local dealers say the 15th of this month.

If the YPAO works well, it might be a worthwhile upgrade.

I agree. The MCACC on the Pioneers works great, and on paper the YPAO should be even better. If that translates well into the real world, then it would be worth the upgrade.
