EDIT: Seems to be a default that we can't edit. For now, the workaround is to use bbcode like so:

[color=red]Test[/color]

That color issue might be a commonality among forum software. I noticed yesterday that DVDTalk uses the same muted pallet and you have to resort to BBCode to get them "right." Theirs, like here, wasn't like that until they upgraded the board software (and if it's XenForo it has a completely different UI). Before their change they had a significantly wider pallet from which to chose. It's now exactly the same as the one here with none of the primary colors available as choices.

Another feature we have been working on quietly, was allowing avatars to have non-square aspect ratios. So, feel free to upload that 16:9 or 2.35:1 AR avatar now
