For thsoe of you not familiar with the history of Renaissance Pictures, Amazon High was a pilot for a series that was never produced. In fact, the pilot never aired. This would be a good extra for Xena season 5 as most of it was used in the episode "Life Blood."

I was wondering if this is at all possible and who to contact to let them know there's an interest. Should I be writing to Anchor Bay or someone at the official Xena/Hercules site? Woudld they have to pay a lot of extra royalties or do they pretty much have it covered by licensing the footage for "Life Blood?"

This would be of interest to many you as it features Selma Blair as the Amazon Queen Cyane.

    Interesting idea.

I would assume that writing to Anchor Bay would do little good, since they are distributing the discs rather than producing them. The folks at Panzer/Davis might be the right ones to talk to. Try the official site you mentioned.

Another great idea would be to release all episodes of Hercules in which Xena or Callisto guest-starred as a mini-boxset.
Because I'm not going to buy the Hercules boxsets just to get those few episodes.
It's especially bad with Callisto - she dies on Xena, then gets resurrected on Hercules and then just shows up on Xena again without any explanation.

I don't think it should be a "mini box-set" at all.

Where crossover episodes happen that impact the series you've bought a season set of, the episode from the other series should be included as a "bonus" on the box you've already bought.

When it's critical to understanding the story you're watching, then it darn well ought to be a requirement.

On the subject, anyone know what they'll do with Hercules season 6? It's only 8 episodes. Perhaps a cheap 2-disc set?

Dan, think it's a little early to go guessing on that, but probably, and throw in a third disc with some other fun junk.

Personally, I'm hoping this relationship leads to Renaissance's greatest series: JACK OF ALL TRADES!

    Jeff,

Man am I glad you mentioned Jack, that show was Bruce's best tv vehicle. the sophomoric sexual innuendoes alone were enough to keep the show on air.

    damn I miss that show.

Unfortunately, the sophmoric sexual innuendoes were apparently not enough to keep the show on the air. But how about that Angela Marie Dotchin? Mrroww!
