Here's the scoop.

On xmas day Im planning a gaming day at my house.
I want to link up 4 xboxes. Now do I need a router
or a hub to do that? I'm planning on getting one anyway because of xbox live. (it's a pain disconnecting/reconnecting my dsl all the time).

Do I just need a bunch of CAT-5 cables to make this work?

Also are there any games that support up to 16 people in link mode?

Any tips or advice on running this kind of event would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Aaron Armstrong

You need a Hub, Switch, or Router and a bunch of regular Cat5 cables. Plug em in and go.

Halo supports up to 16 players, not sure about any other games though.

You can have up to 4 people on each Xbox for a total of 16 in Halo. I believe MotoGP and Deathrow allow up to 16 people as well, but you might need more than 4 Xboxes to do it.

Most system link games support 16 people, it just varies as to how many boxes and how many player per box they allow.

Most are 4 boxes with 4 players each, but some are 8 boxes with 2 players each. It's all game dependant.

The week before x-mas i plan on buying xbove live, mech assault and a few other XBL games. X-mas day open it up. Hook it up and have a huge gaming marathon just like you.

ok how about this scenario...

with the hub/router with 4 xboxes connected,
can you have 2 xboxes competing in one game (say Halo)
and at the same time have the 2 other xboxes playing
NFL2K3?

Thanks,
