Going to pick up a XBOX & some games tonite and I was looking for some feedback on some games....

Mostly looking for anything that may have intense graphics and/or sound....Like it seems Halo is must by game...besides that would like an intense driving game and even some sports related.....

Fire away with your recommended favorites...!!!

Thanks,
Dave

I'd recommend Munch's Oddysee to anyone, since it's the game that sold me on the Xbox in the first place. Plays well, and looks damn good too.

Also, Tony Hawk 3 lived in my Xbox for a LONG time before I finished all of it.

Dead or Alive 3 is also georgeous...the graphics I mean...er you know... :D
Having a blast playing Simpsons Road Rage with my girlfriend and friends, that seems to be the party game of choice right now.
During lunch I rented Blood wake, I'll post tomorrow or the next about it.

For an intense driving game, check out Burnout. I'll never get tired of forcing the competition into oncoming traffic :) (maniacal laughter ensues....)

I'll try to list only exclusives, except for Max Payne I guess, which show the power of the box ( as per your request for intense graphics and sound - these games also don't suck, which I think is important too ;) ).
Best of the best in no order:
ACTION
-Halo
-Max Payne
ADVENTURE/ACTION
-Jet Set Radio Future
-Oddworld Munch's Odyssey
RACING
-Project Gotham Racing
-Rallisport Challenge
-Moto GP
SPORTS/EXTREME SPORTS
-NFL Fever
-Amped

I'll add a title that I enjoyed quite a bit, but that gets kind of overlooked: Genma Onimusha. Other than that, you can't go wrong with any of the usual suspects: Halo, Gotham, Rallisport, Amped, Tony Hawk 3, Jet Set, DOA3 if you like fighting games, Fever if you like football...

I would recommend you NOT buy Bloodwake. Pretty water effects and little gameplay, in my opinion.
I seem to be the only one saying this, but man I love UFC: Tapout! Maybe it helps if you are already a fan of NHB fighting, like I am, but I've owned this game for months and I still play it regularly. Yes, it came out originally for the Dreamcast (hello, BrianB) and there are some aspects from that game - like the career mode - that mysteriously didn't make it into the Xbox version, but I've never played the Dreamcast version so I guess I don't know what I'm missing. I do know that the Xbox game has excellent graphics (but only so-so sound, and hardly any use of 5.1). It is the gameplay that has hooked me. A deep and somewhat unpredictable fighting game.

I have to second BURNOUT as a must-buy title. Playing it in 16:9 widescreen with digital surround is a nail-biting experience, and the wrecks are so realistic that it hurts to watch them.

Halo is a must. Probably the most fun I've had playing video games(console or PC) in years. Co=op mode is fantastic!

Rallisport is awesome. Most fun I have had with a racing game.

Mywife and I are addicted to SSX Tricky. GREAT fun.

If you like platformers, Munches Odessey.

Sports wise, best to rent. All games have good and bad.
I love WC 2002 but if you aren't a soccor fan, it may be boring.

NHL2002 because I love hockey (though this could have been BETTER, why port the ps2 version when you have a PC version to port which is basically what the X box is).

PGR I found too hard(ie don't have the time to invest in the steep learning curve)

Look for Morrowind in 2 weeks, a must buy for RPG fans.

Okay, played Blood Wake - it's fun a for a bit, but not for $50. Definitely a rental or maybe a buy when it drops to $29.99 or less and you have money burning a hole in your pocket. ;)
I am going to try and rent Burnout. It's advertised as HDTV (720p) with an astonishing framerate. My friends liked it on other platforms, so what they hey, worth $6.50 from Ballbuster to try it out for 5 days.

Carlo-

Burnout is 480p max. The initial marketing was all hosed up. A fun as hell game though. =)

Gunvalkyrie - it takes skill to master the controls, but the gameplay is great and it's some beautiful eye candy too.

And of course Halo is a must.

Okay, having played Hunter: the Reckoning, I now have to add my voice to everyone else recommending it. Dismembering zombie armies with two friends with NO drop in frame rate is a pretty incredible experience ... Best game for the Xbox since Halo, and dare I say it, I even like it better than Halo.

I also have Hunter: The Reckoning and it's a FABULOUS game. Took a couple minutes to figure out the controls but I'm a big fan of the interface now that I'm used to it. Nothing cooler than running away from a big slathering beastie while twisting your aim to shoot the pursuing monster.

480p, great use of 5.1 sound and I believe it's 16:9. (there is some debate on this, but on my 16:9 HD all of the HUD circles are round, not oval.) It's also 1-4 player simultaneous fun. My girlfriend sat and watched for a while and then decided to join in, and she hates video games.

GunValkyrie is fun with lots of eye candy, $27 at Target which was a big selling point. It's also 16:9/480p. Think Metroid meets Halo without the multiplayer options. The controls are not THAT hard to figure out, just takes learning like any game. I got tripped up not knowing you could click "in" on the control sticks but after figuring that out I was golden.
