Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix is supposed to be out now for the XBOX. Any fans of this series here? I'm looking to get this one for christmas, and was wondering what people's impressions of this version, and the bundled in pad were. This will be my first DDR game BTW. I've played it twice in the arcades. The first time I played it on 'Light' and sucessfully passed all 3 songs. Next time I played 'Heavy' and got wiped on the first song. Ultra fun game! My girlfriend was rolling on the floor in laughter watching me play.:b

Yea information on this game is hard to find. Looking at the official website I downloaded the trailer and Ultramix allows 4 players to play!! I'm not a huge fan of the series but now my bro and I can both lose to my sister. [IMG] I'll be buying this for her bday, which was on the 15th, have to grab it asap. I'll let you know what she thinks since we have DDRMax for PS2 as well.

One more tidbit- you can buy a simple $7 adapter to plug your PS2 dancemats in the Xbox.. don't have to buy all new ones. [IMG]

We got this in at work tonight and I only looked at the box. It showed tha ability to customize the dance steps, so you can make something insane if you want to. I was saddened to see it did not support custom soundtracks though. That would have been amazing to have that option. I think that would have been a given, with the custom steps being second on the set. Oh well.

On all the DDR forums they said Konami would like to support custom soundtracks but it would violate copyright laws. Since when is dancing to your own music via steps you create illegal? [IMG]

Ok, so songs in DDR is a copyright issue, but me playing Tony Hawk with my own songs is not? Doesnt make sense to me.

In Tony Hawk, the music isn't an integral part of the gameplay.

Where can you get an adapter to allow other DDR mats be used? The PS2 even has hard DDR mats available that look similar to the arcade version, although pricey at around $300 or so in Canuckbucks.

When is this supposed to be released in Canada? I'm guessing Tuesday or so....

First I'd heard of this, but now I MUST get one of these for the wife!

Unfortuneately i've heard that this may NOT be released in Canada, due to licensing issues. It may be that you have to import it from the U.S.

I actually picked this up for my wife and I to play. I've never played this before and was worried about liking any of the music. The trailer for the game had a couple tracks I liked, so I got this version instead of the PS2 one. I can't offer much of a review for the game, as I'm so new to it, but it sounds great via dolby digital. The pad seems responsive enough as well. For those of us that haven't played, its humbling. I passed a song last night after playing for a bit, and was very happy with my 'D' rating [IMG] after about 20 minutes of playing.

My wife and I already considering adding another pad so we can play at the same time.

A friend of mine has a sweet Laptop with a USB->PS2 controller adapter and a TV out port. He has this program that is essentially DDR, but called something else, and you can put in songs and make your own steps. He plays songs in it and then dances on his metal pads. He has practically every DDR song from every DDR game in there, and then some other custom ones.

Miles, did your copy come with a mat? Or is it separate?

Interesting, I didn't see any DDR copies at EB last week. Maybe it just came out in Canada!
