Just read about this at Gamespot, and it's really nothing surprising. The Xbox went from 299 to 199 to 179 to 149 (I believe), so annual price cuts are pretty much par for the course. I'd be really surprised if the first cut didn't come right around the time of the Ps3 launch though.

They're talking cost of manufacturing - reducing that every year. Will those costs be passed onto the consumer? More than likely.
