Is anyone using the X1 and Philips Q50(with Farouga) DVD player? I'm asking because I seem to get a better picture running S-video from DVD player directly to X1(no adapter), than when I tried using component from Dvd player to X1 VGA/component adapter. This means the Faroudga built into the X1 must be better than the one in DVD player, correct? Has anyone else found this with your DVD players? Thanks.

This is sometimes the case even with RPTVs, to let the set do the line doubling rather than the player. With the X1's Faroudja chip it's not surprising the picture is better. I have the 4805 and the Faroudja was definitely better than the progressive output from my Toshiba player.
