    Go here
Pretty good for only three weeks of shooting. I would have taken the shot of "Mrs. Squirt Gun" out, though.[IMG]

Yes it does look quite good. However, I remember that that after the release of X-Men the people who would be incharge of making X-Men 2 said in an interview that the Sentinels would be in the second movie.
I didn't see any in the Trailer but hopefully the Sentinels will still be in the movie.
Just have to wait till May 2003 to find out ... such a long wait. [IMG]

No Sentinels in the movie, sorry, but it is still based off a storyline from the comic.

Someone please tell me they're getting a REAL composer for the score to this one, no more of that Michael Kamen crap!

I dunno. I won't miss the Sentinels if they never show up. I mean, giant robots from outer-space, it's just one of those kind of "out there" plots that doesn't jive with the generally "real-life" universe the movies have grounded themselves in. The Sentinels would be too outrageous IMO.

True. However, the Sentinels plot and the story surrounding how they came to be is whats really important IMO. And I would have liked them to include the story in the Sequal.

If I remember correctly the Sentinels were commisioned to fight the Mutants.

Damn, I'd forgotten how cool Ian McKellen was as Magneto. From Gandalf to this, talk about range.

Well this story has plenty of anti-mutant rhetoric.

Damn right Andrew!! I keep watching that one part over and over, "You should have killed me when you had the chance!!!!"

I just hope Professor X isn't locked up in that cell for most of the movie like the coma in the last one, hehe.

    Just some clarifications:
    - The sentinels were not robots from outer space; that would be the celestials. As Anthony mentioned, the sentinels were indeed built by humans for the purpose of policing mutants.
    - From what I have heard, the sentinels do not appear in the movie but the groundwork is laid for their creation. Take that as total rumor of course.
    - I know a lot of people are making the assumption that X2 will be based on the graphic novel God Loves, Man Kills. Again, from what I have read of the story that is not exactly accurate.
Now, I had forgot that the footage was being put up today so excuse me as I go take a look [IMG].

I thought the Sentinels were from an alternate future? A far-out plot to be sure either way but, still, I'd love to see them and Nimrod...

It's been a long time, but the Sentinels were first encountered within the first 10 or 20 X-Men comics, long before "Days of Future Past." I don't remember much about it, but I do remember the original X-Men fighting Master Mold.

    Looks fantastic. Quicktime is awesome.

X2 is going to be great.

BTW. This is the Ian McKellen that I like.

Gandalf didnt do it for me. Magneto 4 Ever.

It was issue 14 of the original X-Men, and a man named Bolivar Trask created the Sentinels to protect mankind from the mutants. I think he died--sorry for what he had done--but he left behind a gigantic Sentinel called the "Master Mold," who had the power to make more Sentinels.

Now, I haven't read the X-Men in years. Maybe this has all been retconned into them being from outer space/an alternate timeline.

Nimrod was an advanced version of sentinel from what could be an alternate future IIRC. The alternate future story that many may be thinking of is the Days of Future Past storyline from the Claremont-Byrne era. That did have a future where the sentinels pretty much ran everything. As far as I know, they never had any extra-terrestrial origin.

I have seen the footage now, although I have no sound card (dang the old, cheap computer here at work!) so I haven't heard it. I have no complaints with the look though the "squirt gun" did look a little strange.
