DVDFile reported today that the specs for season five of the X-files indicate full frame transfers.

He states in the notice that he's heard from some that X-files went to 16:9 in it's 5th, and from some that it went to 16:9 in it's 6th season?

I figure someone, or many people even, here would know?

So who does know? Should season 5 be presented in 16:9, or do we wait for season 6 on that?

    Thanks in advance!

DVD File's reviews of the X-Files sets have commented on the switch to 16x9 and are inconsistent in that respect as well.

I've seen numerous references to both, but the general consensus on the X-Files newsgroup is that it's season 6, the first season after the movie.

According to DVDFile - it turns out it was season 5. The press release will indicate 1.78 anamorphic transfers from here on out.
