Are there any Xbox games currently available or in the pipeline in the same style as Myst/Riven? ie. Straight puzzle and riddle solving as part of a well constructed back-story? My wife and I both love playing those together and it would be great to have in the main family room as opposed to hunched over a PC.

I assume you mean Puzzle/Adventure games. Here are those games that fall under that catergory, but I haven't played them, so I can't vouch:
    Silent Hill 2
    Duality
    Pirates of Skull Cove
U.S.S. Antartica (From the guys that did Alone in the Dark.
and maybe even Oddworld: Munch's Odyssee
These are all the preview games listed as adventure at IGN X-Box, except for a game called Have a Mice Day, which looked nothing like you wanted, but looked pretty good, if you ask me!

Myst III is coming to the Xbox next year sometime...

I'm not familiar with the gameplay, so I can't really give you any recommendations.

I think Jay is talking more along the lines of graphical adventure titles like Monkey Island and Myst. This genre of game is quite prevelant in the PC market. I found this story a bit ago...it may just be what your looking for:

The new Sam & Max game has been confirmed as an Xbox title. That should be a quality adventure.

Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams has adventure elements in it, but also a lot of action and suspense in the Resident Evil vein.

Munch's Oddyssee is a similar case - adventure/puzzle elements, with a lot of platform action, too.

I enjoy adventure games, but the Myst series bothered the hell out of me. Too non-interactive for my tastes.

EDIT - If you have a PS2, Shadow of Memories is an excellent adventure title. Also, one of the Monkey Island titles is available (Curse of Monkey Island, maybe?).

Also, if you haven't already played it, pick up Grim Fandango (PC)... it's one of the best adventure games ever.

I just wanted to second the recommendation for The Longest Journey. I picked it up last year and totally adored it. Reminded me a lot of the Gabriel Knight games, with its strong characters, deep storyline, and emphasis on interesting conversations. Pretty good graphics too [IMG]
