Per Reddit: Just a reminder that in past years there have been spring events after WWDC was announced. In 2018 for example WWDC ‘18 was announced March 13 and in March 27 was the educational event and the 2018 iPad with Apple Pencil support was held.

that doesn’t mean that there is still definitely an April event but wwdc being announced doesn’t rule it out

I’m in the market for a new iPad.

Should I wait for this.

If you're shopping for a new iPad Pro, you should wait for the new iPad Pro to be released.

If you're shopping for an iPad Air, buy now.

If you're shopping for an iPad...I'm not sure :)

I'm curious why an iPad Pro would be more appealing than an M1 MacBook Air. I like iPads, but at that price I'd want to get a real computer.

I don’t want a “laptop”

Don’t need a keyboard.
It’s nice and flat and maybe I’ll get one of those pencils.

My wife has one of those MacBook airs so I can use that if I need to.
Plus I have a pc laptop and use that when I need more traditional.

I totally get all that, but then why do you need a Pro, for 2.5x the price of a basic iPad? I have to admit I've never exactly understood the appeal of the iPad Pro.

Still (almost) double the price. I just have trouble justifying it. Instead, I get the base model and replace it more often.

I’ve had several iPads and the new iPad Air is worth the upgrade to me, with the slim bezel 11” screen, much faster CPU, 64GB storage, and support for 11” iPad keyboard. It’s double the price, but it’s a much better iPad.

iPad Pro...that’s for professionals and serious enthusiasts.

Costco has the 256 air for $680

iPad pro 128 for $750

128gb really is plenty.

So Dave you suggested wait for Pro but buy now for Air.

Are the Airs out now the newest, no new air expected anytime soon?

HERE'S a good breakdown of Apple mobile devices. The iPad Air is the latest release in the line, so gets a "Buy" recommendation,

Yep, this is an ok time to buy the Air. Definite air on the Pro if that’s your desire.

The new Pro will probably be very impressive hardware. And I’m guessing $999 starting price.

Ok I’m going with the Air.
Costco looks like the best bargain.
