Jeez, it's mostly battery inside. Fastest laptop CPU, 16 GB RAM, up to 768 GB SSD, 7 hours battery life, HDMI out.

This thing is gonna be EXPENSIVE....

Sam, does this have the newest graphics card?
Are we getting the best out there?

They're selling Thunderbolt Ethernet & Firewire adaptors for those that need them. Those ports are out.

Can't find any details about the GPU in this thing, but they were rocking Diablo III at full resolution, so it must be pretty good.

They're saving the worst (price) for last.

Kepler (650) isn't the newest, but it's very good - it's Nvidia's current gen, and it's very, very good. The inclusion of USB3.0 is a nice perk, and authorized or not, there will be Bluray burners (though maybe not viewing technologies.. that's what MKV is for though)

Boy you nailed that.. the QuadCore 8GB. 256GB SSD version is $2,200 as a baseline.. $3k is an easy on the higher end

I am budgeted for just under $4k.

I want the fastest configuration with at least 500GB flash storage and 8GB Ram

With a start of $2200 I think you're good. You just need to add the upgrade from 256 to 500 SSD. I'm guessing you're looking at $3000.

No.. the $2,200 was also the lower end Quad Core 2.3G CPU.. if he wants the split IvyBridge more cores/speed + SSD + RAM, I'm betting right near $3k, maybe a touch over

I do find the comment "we have 40% adoption, faster then X" is kind of cute.. I mean, considering one has an install base of slightly over 1.2B mostly corporate, and the other an install base of 66M users.. mostly individuals. It's not really comparable.

They need to tell me how to break iMessage up so that it isn't just tied to an iTunes account.. so I can use iMessage on my iPad and not have those messages show up on my kids iPads that use my iTunes account ;)

You're right about the CPU, but we both still came up with $3K.

Apple store is back open, but go to their MACBOOK PRO area
and I could swear they are selling their older models.

I think people who don't know better are going to get confused.

Why is the store not updated?

Most of the Mountain Lion features we've seen. Dictation will be nice if it works as well as it does on the new iPad.

I wonder if someone re-opened the store prematurely? It seems to be closed again.
