    Here it is Veterans' Day 2005, a rememberance to the vets of WWI.

    What are some best WWI movies on DVD - especially mechanical (ships, tanks, planes)?

    This doesnt aply to the S,T,P but I just watched it and it was great, Saints and Soldiers. Most people haven't heard of it.

    Paths of Glory and Hell's Angels.

    Not to mention The Blue Max, the best WWI aviation flick ever.

    Of note, however, regarding this and Paths of Glory: Neither of these films is about American protagonists. But they are superb.

    How about the original "All Quiet on the Western Front"?

    I don't remember if there is much in the way of equipment, but it's one of the best war movies that I've ever seen, along with "Paths of Glory"
