Hello! I've frequented this forum quite a bit but never registered/posted as I am mostly a car audio nut until about now, as I am putting an HT in at my home. I am looking for an Onkyo TX-DS575, TX-DS575x, TX-DS595, or their newest SR600, but I would prefer the 575 styles as they would be a little less expensive and would suit my needs perfectly. Also, does anyone know the difference between the 575 and 575x? Thanks and let me know what you have! [IMG]

    575 v. 575x
575 had bugs, spring clips on rear channel terminals, and lack of s-video switching
    575x fixed all that [IMG]

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Now I am trying to decide whether Pro Logic II is worth it to buy the 595 or stick with the 575x, I will have to get back to you on that 575x. I'd love a 696 for the added power, but my budget probably won't allow for it (Just bought a new house). Thanks though!

That is incredibly interesting-thanks! I wish they had an Onkyo 595 tested by now, but I guess I can assume that it also went the way of the 696 and the newer underpowered SR series receivers as well. It's a shame manufacturers have to do that to market more channels instead of more quality in the present channels. Thanks again!
