I'm looking for either the American or Japanese release. Email me at [email protected].

    Thanks...

Be careful Matt! I have both, and my US version has RECENTLY (about years ago) developed severe rot for the first five or so minutes (will probably continue to get longer) on the beginning of side two.
    The Japanese one is fine.
I think the US has better cover artwork (although the Japanese one is also very nice) but it is a regular sleeve w/ both discs in it, where the Japanese one has a very nice and sturdy gatefold sleeve.
Even if it costs more, I'd say the Japanese release is the way to go on this one... [IMG]
So basically, if you are buying the US one, MAKE SURE that they scan all three sides first!
    Good luck!
(Any luck with your Twin Peaks S2 sets yet?)
(bty, LOVE your new sig. pic!)

Thx for the thoughts, Christopher. I did manage to get the last box for TP Season 2. Still locating the others...but Lost Highway has become a priority. I agree with you completely about getting the Japanese version, unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate either version. There's not even anything up on eBay.

    Any help would be great.

True...I have the US laserdisc and rot gets worse every time I put it on....lately, I just leave the sound on and turn off the TV.

Matt: I'll try my U.S. copy sometime this evening. I think it's still sealed - at least, I've never played it. The Japanese version is, as you say, pretty hard to come by and goes for a pretty good price when it shows up. I'm looking for it too, so you have competiton.

I almost got it on a auction last week...the Japanese version, that is. It went for 50, and I snipped at 49 [IMG]

    Oh well.

Still, in the worst case, I'd at least like a copy of the Japanese release.

I'm willing to pay good money for the Japanese disc...if anyone can point me to anywhere on the net where I can buy one, I would be very happy. I've only seen one on ebay for the last few months.

I have the WS Japanese import laserdisc; it's in mint condition. I bought it brand new, actually. I haven't watched it yet. Once I do, I'd probably sell it for the right price, unless I happen to fall in love with the movie. It comes with a nice gatefold jacket - both discs and jacket are mint. The Japanese release has the advantage of not being a known rotter, as well as having theatrical trailers.

Let me know what you'll pay for it. I may try to squeeze in a viewing this weekend.

    Thanks.

    Matt:

YGM. Took me an extra week to watch it. Sorry about that.
