Is that the 2001 or 2002 in the Target ad?
It's the 2002.
What is the differnce with the 2001 and the 2002?
Bump for you, since I'm in the market for one as well...if anybody has any extras, do let me know.
The 2002 doesn't have the upconversion to 1080i output (which is why the 2001 is more desirable).
Mike, here are 18 pages of information about the infamous (and coveted) 2001.
Basically, the 2001 upconverts to 1080i via component and has a secret menu to allow region free, macrovision free viewing. The 2002 doesn't, it's more of a "traditional" DVD player
I don't know which that actually is but the picture is of a LVD-2001. I don't see in the ad a reference to the model number.
You can tell by the PCMCIA Card Slot shown in the picture. The LVD-2002 does not have it. The player pictured in that photo does have it. Interesting.
Would be nice if Target had the 2001. I sure would in the market to get one in a B&M store with a good return policy. I'd really hate to buy one of the internet and find problems which will prompt me to return it.
Target lists that as web only. So even if they had in any stock AND it was the LVD-2001 and not the LVD-2002, then you'd still have to buy it off the internet.
